Meeting with Newly Appointed High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Japan 

The Sri Lanka–Japan Business Council (SLJBC), led by President Mr. Mahen Kariyawasan and accompanied by committee members, met with the newly appointed High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Japan. Discussions centred on strengthening bilateral trade and business relations, exploring avenues for collaboration, and identifying opportunities to promote Sri Lankan exports and investments in the Japanese market. 

Meeting with METI 

Mr. Athulla Edirisinghe led the meeting by briefing participants on METI’s (Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry – Japan) positive engagement regarding the mitigation of nontariff barriers (NTBs) between Sri Lanka and India. 

SLJBC Dinner with Delegates 

The Sri Lanka–Japan Business Council hosted an invitation-only dinner bringing together SLJBC committee members, senior Japanese delegation representatives, government dignitaries, and Ceylon Chamber leadership. Discussions spanned Sri Lanka’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, investment corridors, tourism promotion, and export development, complemented by Sri Lankan cultural performances and formal toasts.
