On 24th July 2025, a Japanese delegation led by officials from METI and the Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JCCI) visited Colombo for high-level discussions at the Presidential Secretariat on deepening bilateral economic cooperation. Two executive meetings followed at the CCC Board Room, covering the proposed Tokyo Forum and the President of Sri Lanka’s upcoming state visit to Japan, as well as export challenges to India, forming part of the broader June–July Japan–Sri Lanka Economic Cooperation Policy Dialogue 2025.
