The SLJBC recently held its 46th AGM with the Ambassador of Japan and Patron of the Council, His Excellency Akio Isomata, in attendance. Mr. Athulla R F Edirisinghe, Director of Hirohama Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd, was elected President for 2025/26, with Mr. Ruwan Waidyaratne, Mr. Shamil Mendis, and Mr. Rohitha Mendis elected as Senior Vice President, Vice President, and Treasurer respectively. The Ambassador highlighted Japan’s readiness to support Sri Lanka through strategic partnerships and encouraged a stronger business delegation to accompany the Sri Lankan President’s visit to Japan, while the newly appointed President called for expanded training opportunities and a technical working group to attract Japanese investment.
